Arguments Against Af1

Whenever the President of the United States needs to travel, his mean of transportation is the huge Boeing 747. Although the decision of President Trump is to replace this aircraft by a smaller and less expensive alternative like the Boeing 737 or the B-21 “stealth bomber”, it seems that there are some unknown things about Air Force One (AF1).

AF1 is the name given to any aircraft boarded by the president, it is used to avoid confusion with other nearby planes. Today, AF1 refers to one of the two 747 that escort the President.

The two 747 will be replaced mainly because of their expensive maintenance that costs more than
3 billion dollars. Moreover, they have been flying since 1990 and it is very difficult to find replacement parts.
