In the topic of abortion many people have different opinions. Some believe it should be completely illegal, some think it should be completely legal, and some people think it should depend on each case. Personally, I think it’s the woman's choice if she wants to keep it or not. I don’t think it is up to other people. We don’t know what the mother or father is going through and I would rather see a child not born, then have a child grow up around abuse, drugs or something even worse. Abortion should be legal for all women. Abortion is a right that all women should have. In the 1820’s ideas against abortions came out in the United States. It was said to be a crime to have an abortion this kept spiraling during the 1860’s all the way till the 1900’s. An example is when the mother is giving birth if it would kill her because of health issues or birth complications. The risks of death during childbirth is 10x higher than abortion risks. This proves that life is too “What if” to say whether or not abortion should be illegal.

According to Trisha Johnson, when people were polled on whether they were pro-life and pro-choice, about 50 percent of the people were pro-life and 45 percent were pro-choice. This meant that still even today people were against abortion and believe that it should be illegal [1]. Johnson also states that even in other countries that do criminalize abortion, it has not reduced the level of illegal abortions performed. That being said, in my own opinion I believe that abortion should remain legalized. The biggest reason is that since I am a man, I will never know how it feels to be a woman, therefore I do not have the right to pass judgement or laws saying what a woman should and shouldn’t do.…

Mark Ruffalo once said, “There was no mistake in us making abortion legal and available on demand. That was what we call progress. Just like it was no mistake that we abolished institutional racism in this country around the same time.” We have came a long way since the 1973 Roe vs. Wade court case which ruled abortions legal, but there is still a lot of nationwide discourse on the subject. America as a country made the vote to legalize abortion more than four decades ago for many reasons such as overpopulation, the mother's well being, and for the fact that the decision should be left to woman carrying the child.…

Since 1760 BC, abortions have been sought-out internationally. There are a variety of reasons for them: because sexually abused women do not desire for guardianship of the child, females do not want their body to be unfit because of pregnancy, or it was a careless mistake that could have been prevented with birth control or any other prevention method. Many women have nonessential abortions. One quintessential example of this is in China; they kill fetuses if the sonogram proves the unborn child to be female. Abortions should be illegal because it is unjust and purposeless slaughter to the unborn human being.…
