Making a choice is the right, opportunity, and power to choose. As human beings, we make mistakes. An abortion is a very big and difficult thing for women and have to really think about it before doing it; it’s not like it’s easy for them. Everybody has a choice and all of these choices have outcomes. There are circumstances where the mother cannot keep the child due to health problems, defects, etc. A woman’s right to choose to have an abortion or not is her right. If society takes abortion away, society is interfering with women’s right to make decisions related to her own body. Gender can also play a huge role in social inequality; If a woman’s right to choose would be taken from her then this would cause social inequity. Taking a women’s right to choose would mean taking her freedom and taking freedom away from any human being would imply inequality. We have the right to choose what we want to do in our lives and that is a part of our freedom. Taking away abortion will …show more content…
Legally abortion is not murder and cannot be perceived as so because the fetus is not even aware of its life. Sarah Dutton states that “A fetus does not have the capability of sensing pain due to the fact that their neural development has not yet matured enough for a connection between the cerebral cortex and thalamus to allow the fetus an acknowledgement of pain”, therefore it does not harm the child. Murder is classified as the killing of another human being under the law. However, under the Roe v. Wade decision of 1973 and U.S. law, abortion is legally a woman's decision. That means if someone believes the existence and fetal viability of the fetus within their body is in danger, they have the option and choice to either abort or continue the pregnancy.
