Police Brutality
Police Brutality is a act when a police officer assaults someone rather than doing what they are supposed to do when in a pursuit of a call. Such as when in a chase, or having to go to someone's house to report them or have any business with them because of a complaint or any other reason they would need to meet with them. Police assault is when they do something to you that was not necessary for any cause, it is when they injure you when not needed or cursing at you, police are not supposed to use any rude language towards you they are meant to be polite and to only do what they have to to keep everybody safe. In my report i used abuse on the disabled, racist brutality, and verbal abuse. All of these are forms of police brutality and not all police are like others so I think that not all police officers are bad most of them are there to protect and serve the people of their district there is a good amount of bad people that serve but i feel there is a great amount of good officers in the world that help protect people from bad officers that decide to neglect their rights as a officer with a badge. My father is an officer at the LAPD (Los Alamos Police Department) and he is there to do his job as an officer by running plates, stopping cars, responding to complaints. I think it would be pretty damn hard to be an officer because they get some dangerous calls and the officers that get called out to respond to them are putting their lives and maybe other lives in danger. If you think about it they can get called out to some pretty dangerous calls like some calls they could get are somebody trying to commit suicide, having people with suicidal thoughts, somebody trying to committed murder or even having somebody commit murder and many other dangerous calls. When you are an officer you get along and friend the people that work with you and when they go on a call that is

Police brutality is a social issue that has plagued America for decades. One of the most infamous cases of police brutality is the Rodney King case. On March 3, 1991, four Los Angeles Police Department (L.A.P.D.) officers brutally beat Rodney King during a traffic stop. A bystander captured the beating on tape and the four officers involved faced criminal charges, including excessive force. The video broadcasted nationwide during the trial, but despite the evidence, a predominantly white jury acquitted the four officers of all charges (Biography).…

What counts as a lawful or reasonable shooting? Videos of police brutality are surfacing over the course of this year and more specifically over the past few weeks. Although the videos or recordings are not photographs, they still hold significant meanings and interpretations. The many recordings include the shootings (murders) of Trayvon Martin, Freddie Gray, Laquan McDonald, Walter L. Scott, and many more. I believe that videos, specifically the recordings of police brutality, have the power to transform similar to how Sontag describes photographs in which she states “that photography transforms scenes of violence and suffering into something beautiful to evoke empathy, pity, or shock.…

As my first hypothesis indicates, I think that the amount of police brutality has remained consistent over time, my research will examine the overall effectiveness of policies against police brutality, but on a federal rather than a city level. Since there is a plethora of literature regarding the tendencies of police and consequently, the effects that their tendencies have on individuals, it is crucial to determine the actual effectiveness of police brutality policy. Through exploring the literature revolving around police brutality, I included only topics most central to policy and police behaviors. My extensive research indicates a gap in the overall effectiveness of national police brutality policy, which I intend to exploit through a comparative data analysis of the number of police brutality cases nationwide within the last 20 years. An analysis on the national level will call for more federal attention to the fluctuation of national police brutality as well as a comparative tool that indicates what kinds of policy policies work best and are implemented most…
