Argumentative Speech: Permutations And Combinations

At a JEE coaching centre where I was teaching Permutations and Combinations! It's an interesting story you wouldn't mind reading!

“So today we are going to start a new topic – Permutations and Combinations” – No, I wasn’t going to be tortured by yet another teacher lecturing me on the most frustrating topic in the entire IIT-JEE syllabus. I was the torturer !

It was 15th December, 2007. Just another class. Just the same 150 odd students of his “darling” Salt Lake batch – the most notorious one I had taught yet, still somehow loved teaching them.

Ten minutes into the class and to the extreme left chair of the second row I noticed someone I hadn’t seen before. Maybe a new student. Anyway, I noticed her solving a problem which I had given in the class. She completed it, probably before the rest , and looked at me . She smiled. Shiny brown eyes, bright glowing face, bit long luscious hair, and ahh ! the smile . It didn’t take me long to realize that she was the most beautiful girl I had seen yet.

Anyway, the short class

Yet again I noticed her between the class and walked straight past her. “Too good for you Ankur. 6 ft 1 in and a full 56 kgf of gravitational pull vs (yet again) the most beautiful girl in the world you’ve seen yet". Sigh. "Concentrate on teaching, you fool", I resigned. But after the class, while I was waiting for someone, she came again to me. They were four of us talking. About me. About life at IIT Kharagpur. About how bloody scared I once was because I had to go back after vacations to a senior hall as a second-year student. About the ragging. The two of us.Talked. Laughed. Like we had been talking for ages. One would ask. Wait, there were four of you right? “Yeah, sure ! “ . “Will you attend more classes ?”, I enquired. “Maybe on 1st January coz I’ll be in Bangalore till then”, she replied. “Okay” says one Ankur, “Shit ! “ says the other one. It was time to leave. With a heavy heart, he

“We honor our past because it shapes our future,” this is one of the many quotes that Otterbein University holds dearly. Otterbein University holds this value greatly. To accurately depict the overarching qualities of Northwestern which I find most intriguing, it is easiest to provide a line from the university’s president, Morton Shapiro, on why the university stands out from their competitors. While emphasizing the school’s motivated approach to maximizing attention toward undergraduate students, Shapiro professed that the school’s “focus on undergrads without losing the identity as a great research institute” is a quality that sets Northwestern apart. This ideal, which is a crucial part of Northwestern’s identity, makes it all the more captivating. In the majority of colleges I have researched during my prodigious quest for the perfect university, I found that their “commitment to every student” was…

Since the beginning of time, achieving success has always been a group effort. Whether it be building the Pyramids or the White House, nothing over the course of history has ever been completed by one person alone. There is always help, whether it be in the form of someone acting on another individual's behalf or supporting someone by sharing advice or lending an encouraging word. Into The Wild by Jon Krakauer is a work that reveals the tendency of people to fail at helping and supporting unique or unordinary individuals find a way to fit into a materialistic society that seemingly contradicts everything they stand for. It is through analyzing the reasons why Chris McCandless goes into the wild that we see the importance of having a support group and finding people to hold yourself accountable to.…

Discovery the act of finding or learning something for the first time, therefore this image represents how discovery can be unwelcome, similar to the text, where the persona’s discovery results in a mental breakdown. This image was chosen to write ‘Lost’ because I believe that one of the most confronting types of discovery is self-discovery. The mirror represents what we discover about ourselves, but the cracks depict a skewed perception, just like the persona in the text. Both the character in the image and the persona in the text succumb and submit to the severity of their discoveries. Both discover other parts of themselves which seem completely identical, but are completely contrasted to their ideals, and these parts are hidden within themselves.…

Argumentative Synthesis Extremely Rough Draft Between 1978 and 2014 the United State’s incarcerated population increased 408% (aclu.org). There is no shock that since then America has struggled to meet the demands of inmate housing. Privatization has long been used as a solution to America’s overcrowding problem within prisons, claiming to be cheaper without losing out on quality. However, despite their first institution in 1984 (Seiter 417), private prisons have not met their claims. There is no proof that private prisons save taxpayer money, prisons are still over capacity, and corruption soars.…
