I. Introduction
Attention getter statement: Who wants to lead an exciting life full of adventure and novelty? I’m assuming that is everyone, right. Now, can I get a raise of hands from anyone that would like to do this by traveling sometime in the future?
Credibility Statement: Like many of you, I’ve always wanted to travel—and I’m happy to say that I’ve finally taken the initiative to make it happen. I’m signed up to study abroad next semester in Madrid, Spain. The process of signing up wasn’t as hard as I thought it would be and anyone can do it.
Reason for audience to listen: As young college students there is so much to gain from travelling right now, and there are so many opportunities available that it would be a shame to not to

Evidence: As college students at UW-Whitewater, studying abroad is always an option if you are determined to travel right now. UW-W has a lot of different exchange programs that are all really great. This has been the route that I have chosen to take to make traveling possible. There are many scholarships that will really help with the cost of studying abroad if you take the time to apply to them. In a situation where we find ourselves finding excuses for not doing something we have to remember that there is always a way, and that living with regret is worse than dealing with the obstacles of trying to achieve what you want. The 2015 article Should You Put Travel Above Your Career by C. Lavingia and the 2014 article by A. Machado titled How Millennials Are Changing Travel both describe the importance of not caring about money and caring more about living life right now while you’re young, because it won’t always be that way.

v. Conclusion: If you want to travel, do it now because time is not guaranteed and you don’t want to live with regret like so many others have.
