I believe that marijuana should be legal. Why, because as just coming from me, I think marijuana is a benefit drug to mostly everyone. It helps/helped plenty of people going through things, it can be a relaxing stimulate, it can be used to treat certain symptoms, it help creative thinkers, and it can also make you laugh. Marijuana is just being seen as a “bad” drug because how it is used threw certain people. If the drug was introduced properly as a benefit drug for only medications, it would have probably been in cvs by now. But, since the drug was transported illegal and was processed illegally, the government sees it as another drug such as cocaine. More than half the people in the US drinks, which is why they can’t ban it, but almost the same amount of the US voted that weed should be legal everywhere. Alcohol made more than $400 billion in 2010 in the US. So taking that away from people would cause some real financial problems. Colorado alone made more than $70 billion last year just off of Marijuana Products and stores based off marijuana. Not even counting the Illegal money that is also being processed their. Washington and Oregon just sales products of marijuana, but Alaska and the District of Columbia are fully legalization of marijuana. Washington expected to have at least $150 million in taxes alone for the year of 2016, last year dispensaries sold an estimated $257 million of marijuana products. Oregon and Washington market averages about the same amount each year. Oregon just have a better way of dealing with the substance and how they sales and taxes on the products. Just in the month of January, Oregon collected 25% tax from the state dispensaries and made more than $14 million. All the money that’s collect from the tax of just selling products and medicals is being used for beneficial things for the state and not just wasted. Like 40% of the tax revenue from the goes to educational things for school, 20% of the money is for people with mental health and drug services. 60% of the money that's made goes straight back to the people to help the state itself grow just from one “drug”. Anothing Oregon doing for its state, they providing 2,200 jobs for residents in that state. California sold $2.7 billion in marijuana products, but it isn’t yet fully legalized there yet.
