Give Football Life Football isn’t just a sport, it’s a passion. Not only do the players learn the game, but they learn lessons along the way. From football, they learn about responsibility and discipline. they learn about teamwork and companionship on and off the field. Over 1 million High Schoolers play the game of football in the U.S. Many people believe that football should be cut because the safety is concerning. Football administrations are doing whatever they can to make the game have a safer environment. Football shouldn’t be cut based on fear of injuries. The first reason football shouldn’t be cut is because the awareness of the injuries are strong. At a conference in New Orleans, the N.F.L. commissioner Roger Goodell says, “The sport was safer than ever because of awareness about injuries.”(Belson 2). They know about the concerns of the players and they are doing whatever they can to keep them safe. Mitten, the school board president of Maplewood Richmond Heights High school in St. louis, states, “I Was very concerned about the number of injuries i saw our student-athletes were suffering.”(Belson 3).
