Football, it’s America's favorite pastime, with millions and millions just watching the Super Bowl. But is it really worth it? With playing and even just watching there are many consequences. Putting yourself out there to play for the love of the game, entertainment, or even just for the money, you are putting your physical and mental health at risk. Whether you like it or not you have to face the facts, it’s a dangerous sport with many cons. Myself, I don’t mind watching it, I’m a cheerleader for football and without it I wouldn’t have a sport to do in the summer/ fall. However, I can’t help but feel guilty when I see what happens on that field. I believe football is too dangerous. That no matter your race, religion, or who you are in general, you all share the love of the sport. However, I believe that we as people can learn to belong and feel as we are united by so much more that a dangerous sport. Yes, it is something many people love, and I would be very surprised to see it go. With all the injuries and all together laziness if you’re just sitting around watching it, is it really worth it? There are many, less harmful sports you can get together for or just get involved in a hobby. There are just too many risks in the sport to just use it to feel united with fellow friends and family.
In conclusion, football is too dangerous. It puts the players at risk for head injuries, or sprains and broken bones. Which should definitely not be okay for children in middle school, jr high, and high school to go through. The people watching become lazy and dependent on the sport of a social life. It also brings out a cruel side of them for the love of pain inflicted on others come out. I feel we, as people are more and can do so much more, than just
