College is the ticket to a better future. However, it does not come free. People have to work hard if they want to get in, and that is the way it has always been. Recently, though, people have been arguing that college should be free. It sounds great, but is this fantasy even possible? College should not be free. Think about this: if college was free, who would pay for it? The government would end up with this burden, and free college for every citizen would cost a lot of money. Making college free would just drag the U.S. deeper into debt. The United States is already deep, owing over 19 trillion dollars.
