Breast is best? There are not many options when it comes to feeding an infant. While there are a small few that feed the baby justly whatever they want, a majority of parents narrow it down to either formula feeding or breastfeeding. Unfortunately, if a mother chooses to breastfeed she is faced with more than just the struggles of the actual breastfeeding, she is also faced with the challenge of fighting the flack breastfeeding brings. Parents who choose to formula feed also face some negativity from breastfeeding advocates. Formula feeding parents also have the chore of deciding, out of the many choices, what bottles to use and what brand/type of formula will be best for their baby, even though “breast is best.” With massive amounts of research

They are told that their baby needs to be supplemented with formula. When a mom supplements, their bodies have an adverse reaction, due to less feedings at the breast. Our milk supply works on supply and demand. So when the baby isn’t placing orders, the breast loses business until they finally shut down. Then, of course, mothers have no other option but to formula feed. Another reason moms formula feed is because of the public’s judgmental eye. “It's not about what's 'legal,' wrote one reader on the Oregon Live website. ‘It’s more about what's 'right.' And the effects our choices have on the people around us. With there really being only two choices of nurturing the tiny humans of the world, they both need to be accepted so that feeding the baby gets taken off the already complicated list of how to raise a baby. That being said, breastfeeding is the best option and mothers should be able to bare all to give their child the best and not have to cover up, to please others, giving their child second
