Argumentative Essay: What Is Really Going On In Cuba?

People hear the name Cuba and automatically think old architecture, beautiful women, and amazing food. Little do they know, those who live in Cuba are suffering and live in poverty. They look like they are stuck in time because their government stands corrupt. Their government advocates class war, sees that property is owned by all and that all are treated according to their needs and abilites. Because of that, the government does not do much to make things better for their people and economy. So if ever the question "what is really going on in Cuba?" is asked have the truth be told. Everything those people have is all they have. The Cuban government has a corrupt system. The government continues to censor information and punish public criticism. Since the govenment has a communists system, everyone in Cuba has to follow their rules or else they will get punished. It now relies on long-term prison sentences to punish its people, but short-term arbitrary arrests of human rights defendes. Other tactics employed by the government include beatings, public shaming, and termination of employment. Just in 2017 a man named Roca, was beaten and publicly shamed for having freedom of speech. Roca blogged and videographed what takes place in Cuba. Cuba does not want their citizens knowing the truth about their country. The governemnt routinely blocks access within Cuba to these websites. However, only a fraction of Cubans can read websites and blogs because of the high cost of, and limited access to, the internet. They find ways to find out information but they know by doing that they could get caught and beaten or taken for knowing the
