Imagine almost every food product in your kitchen potentially containing an ingredient that could drastically affect your health. For example, someone could be feeding their children different types of foods that could be harmful to their health. Most of the time, people own several products without knowing what components make up the food they are eating. Quite often, a customer does not know how their food was grown or which farmers use organic crop spray instead of one that contains GMOs. Unfortunately, customers do not know what is contained in many of the products that they purchase. Everyone is allergic to something different and not everyone is made aware until one day they consume that type of food and have a reaction. An allergic reactions occurs when a protein that is non irritating to most but affects a select few people when consumed. As the protein runs through this person's system it causes an immune response which if serious enough is fatal. Unfamiliar proteins can come from something that has never been inside another food before which can cause the human body to become sick or reject this protein. A protein that is often known for causing allergic reactions can be injected into another food and still cause a reaction. Going back to labeling, if these products are not labeled correctly the consumer will not be aware about this added protein which they can not ingest.
