Unaccompanied minors should be awarded asylum by the United States. Unaccompanied minors seek refuge from gangs and violence in their home countries. International Business Times reports, the government’s justification for deporting minors is to reunite them with family members, on the other hand, minors claim after being deported “ there is no real follow up.” Truly, if the government claims deporting little children is deed done in their best interest, they would at least check up on them periodically. Additionally, placing a minor in the same hostile situation they intentionally fled from causes more conflict.
