Have you ever felt like you have no luck? As if someone or something is detaining you from achieving your goals? Well, someone sure did, and its something you wouldn't want to experience. Well, today you are going to read about someone that was gone For over 20 years and he couldn't get to his home or to his family. Its something really scary to experience. All this happened to someone, a human being, someone who has feelings like everyone else, imagine how he must have felt and what he had to go through. But what really mattered is that he did not lose hope and neither did his family. And so the most important theme of the story is to never lose hope and to never give up.

One example of this happening in the Odessey is when Ulysses is prevented by the god Poseidon(god of seas) from getting home. Ulysses heads off to war to fight the city, Troy. But doing this process he has a son but he still leaves to war. Ulysses offended the god Poseidon which caused him to not go home. So Ulysses was faced with many challenges but he still didn't lose hope that one day he will go home. For example, when he was stuck on Calypsos island she prevented Ulysses to leave her island because she wanted him all to herself. But Ulysses didn't give up, day and night he would

Ulysses never lost hope and never gave up trying to get to his family and to his kingdom even after being faced with many challenges such as being stuck on Calypsos island. Also as said in paragraph 3, Ulysses son didn’t lose hope that his father was alive so he went to search for him. And always getting vengeance on your enemy is the least important theme because it isn't used often. Also, vengeance could lead to severe consequences so it is a good thing not to use it.
