The Wonders of Gun Control Every time there is a shooting in the news there is always a flock of people that pop up and say “ We need stricter gun control” or “ take away the guns”. Guns aren’t the problem it is the people behind them. There should be more control on the people buying them, but most protesters want certain accessories or types of guns banned. In the US there are about 300 million guns in circulation. The gun to murder ratio is 20,696 guns legally and privately owned to one murder.(Mill) If we compare the US to El Salvador ,the murder capital of the world, did some cleaning and now there is 5000 guns for 100 thousand people for every person killed there is 53 so every 53rd gun is a murder compared to every 20,696th gun.

The liberal states are stricter on guns but everyone hears about those shootings, an example of that is the shooting at sandy hook connecticut is harder on guns than most states. There ended up being a shooting there, the gun that was used was able to be automatic or burst which is considered an “assault weapon” under the eyes of the law. That did not stop Adam Lanza from shooting up the school. For example they want the AR-15 to be harder to get even a pistol to be harder to buy. Currently in indiana a person has to be at least 18 to buy any rifle or shotgun and their ammo.Then a person has to be at least 21 to buy any pistol or its ammo. As of lately Dicks Sporting goods and walmart have brought up the restrictions for all guns and ammo to 21. Regardless of how old a person is at a store they have to go through a background check but if they go through a private seller they don't have to go through
