Argumentative Essay: The Use Of The Mason River

The argument that the use of the Mason River for water sports, such as swimming, boating and fishing, will surely increase after the clean up the city park department will perform and, therefore, that more money should be invested in riverside facilities to support these recreational activities is not entirely logically convincing, since it ignores certain crucial assumptions.
First, the argument assumes that all the people that expressed their preference for water sports in the cited survey, do in fact like to practice them. By saying that this is their favorite type of recreational activities, people might only mean they enjoy watching them either live or on TV and, consequently, they will not practice them even if better conditions are offered
