Donald Trump won the 2016 election by a landslide, with 306 votes going to the republicans, and 232 votes going to the democrats(270ToWin). A big reason for this was the very different way this election year handled their campaigns. Twitter and Trump could be used synonymously with how much he’s associated himself with it. Tweet after tweet reaching out to the Americans debating on who to choose for the presidential candidate. Several Americans who voted for Trump voted for him due to his raw and unfiltered tweets which reached the screens of millions who follow him. Social media should not be included into presidential elections because the ease of social media allows the user to be more volatile, in turn creating a more toxic presidency.

Pierce argues that the society has been blasted with tweet after tweet, bombarding his audience with crap, many of them become annoyed. Everyone who follows Trump, because of this updated technology, is able to keep up with what he has to say. But many are tired with the amount of crap he spits out. Pierce demonstrates support for the counterargument with,”I feel fuhrer fatigue every morning when I receive the first blast of presidential tweets”(1).This is incorrect because Trump's tweets are not a hundred percent accurate and in turn not as affected in conveying what he wants to say because his persona takes away his credibility.
