Argumentative Essay: The Use Of Honor Codes In School

Many colleges have adapted honor codes that is used to encourage integrity. Students that attend the college are taught through the honor code to be independent and are expected to follow these principals. Students must learn to distinguish what is morally wrong and right. Therefore, colleges should have honor codes. With the use of honor codes, students attending will succeed in being independent and honesty. Reasons honor codes should be put to use because people spent money on scholarship to help further student’s education, severe consequences will take place, and not abiding by the rules will have cause a major effect on the future of the student.
In college, depending on the amount of money many people have spent on students to further education, it can all go to waste if the student is caught by not abiding the honor code. For example; if a student is going to college to go into the medical field, well for the fact that they cheated their way out of college, they can damage their patient’s life and cause a major problem. The student never did their work so how would they have a successful surgery? By not abiding by the honor code in collage, one has wrecked their future. They also have not succeeded to do the best they could do and do not have the knowledge. By following the honor code, it can allow students to be successful in the future life.
