Argumentative Essay: The Mars Mission

The way we see things is changing. Farther destinations no longer look so far away. Impossibilities are becoming probabilities. And now, the world looks a whole lot smaller. Looking up into the night sky you can see the billions of stars shining down on you. As kids, didn’t all the little boys dream of being astronauts and zooming through space in their rocket, floating in mid-air and talking one large leap for child-kind? Well, now that dream can be made a reality for many people who are still dreaming of outer space! NASA has begun starting the Mars Mission,and by the 2030s they plan to be sending volunteers up into space. The volunteers will go through training, then will be launched into space, and in about 500 days, they’ll be on their new home, Mars. Yep, they will be true Martians. But many believe that this is a waste. A waste of resources, of money, and could be potentially damaging to the people sent up. However, they couldn’t be more wrong.

As our childhood dreams of being a princess or dragon-slayer fades we need something to replace it. Without a future where will we be? Nowhere, that is the correct answer. The Mars Mission gives people something to dream of. In the words of Buzz Aldrin “refocusing our space program on Mars for America’s future, we can restore that sense of wonder and adventure in space we knew in the summer of 1969.” It will spark our imaginations to think of what can and will be, it could ignite our creative spirits and bring around a whole new age of learning! You can never truly know what this one thing could bring about, and the only way to find out is to try! So why would we deprive ourselves of an experience like
