Argumentative Essay: The Issue Of Gun Control In America

In my essay, I wrote about the issue of gun control. I believe that there should be a little stricter laws pertaining to guns because people treat them as toys, rather than deadly weapons. I chose this topic primarily because I was going to give a speech on the issue of guns in America. Writing about this topic and preparing for a speech, I could kill two birds with one stone, along with the added benefit of extra research. But I couldn’t deliver the speech because of issues with the timing and my schedule. Though, the reason I decided to talk about guns for the speech was because I noticed that there is a lot of mass shootings, and gun misuse. By bring to light the issue and possible solutions towards guns. I had hope to inform people that were ill informed.
When writing this paper, I tried to appeal to those that had a limited amount of knowledge on this topic. At times, these people have a lot of wrong information, or fall into the belief that we need guns for protection. This belief is one that is commonly proposed by the NRA and gun advocates. If I noticed that there was a misspelled word, or if a phrase did not make sense then I’ll change it. But my attitude towards guns did change. At first, I was for radical removal of all guns in America because the only purpose of guns is to kill another living organism. Then I had realized, if an act that radical were to be enacted, it will not only result in mass hysteria, but the people will fear and resent the government.
