Negative repercussions of not exercising include diabetes, cardiovascular disease, and premature death. By not creating a schedule to stick with, people can easily become overweight, causing one’s heart to work harder and puts one at risk for serious health complications. The World Health Organization estimates that “3.2 million people worldwide die of complications from physical inactivity” (“Long Term Effects of Not Exercising”). Many people who do not exercise on a daily basis; do not persevere through a little pain; and those who believe they can spend their time better spent elsewhere act as victims of these terrible effects. Exercise options can range from taking a simple stroll to swimming ten, difficult laps.
