Argumentative Essay: The City Of Sunset Terrace

The vacant lot in Sunset Terrace is a monstrosity. This space is currently occupied by weeds, litter, and pests. The town of Sunset has recently purchased this lot and plans to use it to benefit the community. After the eradication of the garbage and vermin, this land would be a great blank slate to build a tennis court, basketball court, and playground. This lot is 234 feet long and eighty-one feet wide. According to Google.com, that is the size of three average tennis courts. The idea is to put a tennis court, a basketball court, and a playground on this space. Playing sports is a great way for the citizens of Sunset to stay active and bond. Sunset Terrace is a safe and friendly neighborhood occupied by people of every age. Many residents of this subdivision stay active either by walking their dogs or riding their bicycles. While these exercises keep these people healthy, they do not help them to socialize. This is because such tasks only require one person to accomplish. Participating in a game of tennis, pickle ball, or badminton, would allow people to get together with at least two or three other people. Therefore, allowing them to mingle with other members of the community. …show more content…
Some people would prefer to participate in more aggressive net sports than tennis or badminton. This is why a basketball court would be built adjacent to the tennis court. Whether people want to play a full game or one-on-one, a community court would not be far away. Students who play basketball for their school would not have to stop practicing when the season ends. With a basketball court nearby, players can hone their skills year round. They would also have the advantage of practicing on a full-sized court instead of a small driveway.
