“Britain, with an army to enforce her tyranny, has declared that she has a right (not only to TAX) but to BIND us in ALL CASES WHATSOEVER” (Paine 153). The British control over Americans must end before more laws and restraints are passed. “There is one hundred times more enthusiasm for the revolution… in Paris than there is in all the United States together” (Roden 141). People don’t understand America’s cause because they are more focused on the Red Coats. Washington’s army is still showing Alacrity and want to win the battle (Waldo 151). Soldiers are still content, enthusiastic, and willing to fight. A man who is willing to fight through tough or easy times is the one who deserves the thanks (Paine 153). When/If we are victorious and win our freedom, the soldiers who fought consistently should receive praise and thanks. This reason is causing me to re-enlist because the British government is cruel and should come to an end. Overall, tyranny of the British is what should end and I am fighting for my country’s freedom.
On the other hand, some might not re-enlist because of the poor and dangerous living conditions. This point of view makes sense because soldiers lived in huts that are 16’ by 14’. Our own doctor was miserable and there were 2,898 soldiers ill in December 23, 1777. However, if you re-enlist, you will provide help to the army and the country by fighting for the end of British tyranny. Therefore, I would re-enlist because my country is under the worst control and I will not stop fighting until we are independent and
