His impressive six NBA championships have a large reason to do with it. While with the Chicago Bulls, Jordan was able to three-peat twice in his thirteen seasons. Jordan’s first three championships were won at staggering ages of twenty eight through thirty years old, remarkably winning the Finals MVP in each of the three series as well. A few years after his third championship, Jordan retired to pursue a love for baseball. His plans did not work, so Jordan returned to the NBA a few years later and won three more championships for the Chicago Bulls. Once again, the three championships were recorded consecutively and Jordan was once again named Finals MVP for each. Since Jordan was able to successfully put up six championships, it ranked him high among the most championships acquired by one player. These stats are known as the non-glamour stats, for most people really only rely on the scoring statistic. In Jordan’s career he averaged around six rebounds and five assists, which is quite impressive given his thirty points per game.
Next is Jordan’s opponent, the up and coming LeBron James. LeBron James is the current face of the NBA, producing big numbers each year and making a strong bid for the new best player of all time. After playing with the Miami Heat and Cleveland Cavaliers, he is currently in his eleventh season in the NBA, but plans to participate in many more as he is only thirty years of age. This surprisingly young age gives James another chance to remove Jordan from the best player of all time.
One of LeBron’s achievements to his name is his two NBA championships. After winning back to back NBA Finals with the Miami Heat in 2012 and 2013, LeBron looks to continue his excellent play to eventually come away with some more, after returning to Cleveland to bring his home town their first NBA championship. Like Jordan, James also has won an MVP for each of his finals wins.. Despite this achievement, James still has a little work to do before he can catch the staggering six championships by Jordan. However with the excellent team skill of Cleveland, those championships could be coming quicker than
