Argumentative Essay: Shrek And Space Odyssey

Decent Essays
Some people believe Space Odyssey Is the best movie of 2001, but I believe that Shrek was and still is the best movie of 2001 and to this day. Shrek is a Fantasy Adventure movie following an ogre on the quest with his trusty steed donkey to save a princess for the King to be Lord FarQuad, but in the end, Shrek gets with the beautiful princess named Fiona who also is an ogre in the end. It’s an all around magnanimous hearted movie and fun for all ages.
Now for my reasoning. Shrek is a beautiful work of art, the animation is smooth and good. The soundtrack is also amazing. They have fun, upbeat songs along with some sad songs. They have some top hits like All star, and Hallelujah. Also Shrek blew up on the internet from 2016-2018 with Shrek is love Shrek is life. It has a more loving beauty and the beast story than the actual beauty and the beast story, There love is not generated by Stockholm syndrome they connect, a real spark to each other. It teaches, kids not to judge a book by its cover, cause Shrek really isn’t a bad guy, but he got marketed as a bad guy.

With a fifth one along the way! Clearly, if a movie can have four sequels AND some few episodes for the holidays it is clearly a great movie. Plus, even some of the characters from Shrek have their own mini series. Like Puss in boots. He has his own movie and TV series. Shrek really is a funny movie, they make fun of fairy tales and live in the fairy tale universe. The characters really resemble their voice actors. If you compare Fiona and Cameron Diaz they almost look Indistinguishable except Fiona is a red head. And Mike Myers looks like Shrek in Shrek 2 When Shrek becomes a human from a happy

While I loved many things about this movie, I must say that if you don't necessarily enjoy musicals, you definitely wouldn't like this movie. There were so many songs in this movie that they played almost every 5 minutes which I believed interfered with the story and made it seem less realistic because I have never seen a group of people singing and dancing outside my window. I think a few of the most catchy songs would have added a bit of fun to the movie but so many made it more of a…

Shrek Two is a popular 3D animated comedy film that was released in 2004, by Andrew Adamson, Conrad Vernon and Kelly Asbury starring an ogre called Shrek whose recently been married to a princess and has returned to her kingdom to meet the in-laws. It gains its effectiveness through the use of anachronisms, intertextual references and the inversion stereotypes. To begin with, one of the ways Shrek 2 gains its effectiveness from the use of anachronisms. An anachronism is something out of place, especially from a different time periods. These are extensively used in the film; they use words such as Farbucks instead of Starbucks, Versarchery for Versace.…

The dialogue between the characters are very memorable and comical. The plotline keeps the movie going and, in my opinion, the film is engaging and grabs the attention of the audience. This is a movie I would choose to watch for entertainment or just to pass time. My childhood consists of enjoying the movie with my family and yelling at my sister to stop quoting the film. It brings back memories and, hopefully, it will continue to help me make memories.…

The Dreamworks film Shrek follows characters through a very strange fairy tale. Through the crazy tale the many characters display many complex issues of psychology such as personality disorders and many downfalls in society. One of the main problems within the movie is discrimination towards the ogres and other fairy tale creatures. Right off the bat a mob comes to Shrek ’s swamp looking to kill him.…

Unlike other fairy tales, the film Shrek does not feature the classic charming prince as the hero, but instead, an ogre. This one ogre, along with his friend, Donkey, break the cycle of the classic fairy tales and take adventure to a new level. Not only do they save the princess, but also save all the other fairy tale characters. Nevertheless, Shrek is a folktale because of the style of the story and its allusions to other folk and fairy tales.…

Monty Python the Quest for the Holy Grail mocks many epic stories, like Beowulf, sir Gawain and the Green Knight. The movie mocks how a knight should act and makes a joke of the legionary quest for the Holy Grail. Monty Python takes everything from the stories that is supposed to be serious and makes it not serious. It takes all the themes and makes a comical twist to them.…

Making movies (especially ones that can stand the test of time and really speak to people’s hearts) is a group effort. What you see on the screen is the result of so many people giving their all to the project. Even people that we don’t think of like the movie’s director of photography. His lighting is genius. Add to this the performances (I never realized Eric McCormack was such a fine singer!)…
