They can help calm the veteran if they are anxious and they can form a barrier against crowds so that the veteran won’t get overwhelmed. Sometimes even just the mere presence and company of a dog will soothe someone and ease their stress or anxiety.…

I am against the idea of workplaces allowing employees to bring their dogs to work. While the idea itself is great and it could help improve the mindset of employees, there are also reasons they could be a hinderance to employees. Such as allergies, health issues or a fear of dogs, unpredictable behavior of even the most well-behaved canines and their constant need for attention while at work. First off, while having an adorable dog interact with employees can help reduce stress and anxiety in some cases it tends to benefit some rather than all. Some people have mild to severe allergies to dogs and they'd prefer to have a work environment free of things that put them at risk to health complications.…

With their keen sense of smell, dogs are trained to be detection dogs or sniffer dogs. These dogs can help people, especially the police, to detect substances, for instance, explosives, illegal drugs, wildlife scat, currency, blood, or accelerants such as gasoline and lighter fluid (Clark, 2013).
