Argumentative Essay: Should Kids Get Paid?

Decent Essays
Once upon a time I went to a friend’s house, and spent the night. And my friend’s mom asked him to unload the dishwasher. He then asked how much he was going to get paid and his mom told him that she just wanted him to do it. Then He said that he wasn't going to do it in less he got paid. Kids should not be paid for chores According to peaceinyourhome Adults get paid for doing their job. Their fore kids should get paid for doing their job .it teaches responsibility and prepares them for the future. I disagree with this because
Adults are doing jobs that take a lot of hours, and that is hard work. Like a teacher for example, they spend 8 hours teaching then after school. Then you spend 10 minutes cleaning you’re room or less if you do it

The question was proposed on whether or not teens should get paid less than adults. The correct answer is no. For these three reasons; would lowering their wage really increase their employment, it would negatively affect the economy, and there’s enough discrimination. To begin, “…there’s little evidence to suggest businesses would be more likely to hire teens if they could pay them less than adults.” (Watkins 23).…

Come January 2018 the child support bill will be abolished for all participants. According to the Child Support Law once a married couple has separated or divorced, or when only one of the parents who are unmarried has custody of the child, the court may order the “non-custodial” parent to pay the child support of a certain amount. Kids shouldn’t get money for doing chores because that should be a thing that needs to be done all the time. For example, when I clean up around the house I don’t get anything because that should be a day to day thing for you. My parents always tell me to clean up my room and I don’t get anything because they want me to learn about it. If you have kids and they clean up their room and do it well, you shouldn’t reward them because they should do it anyway. I used to get rewarded for cleaning up my room when I was little.…

On one side you have Carlos Casares and his two children Carlos Jr, age seventeen, and Cody, age thirteen, who work the cotton fields each summer to support their family. While on another side you have a North Carolina farmer, Jeff Darnell, who is also under heavy financial stress. Students should study because they want to, not to be forced to. Its wrong to lure students into studying by using cash as it gives them an idea that money can somewhat “control the world” everything does revolve around money, Which is a sad truth that they don’t understand that money does control the world and them. Although this policy encourages the wrong things. Students may get so caught up in focusing on making more money that they assumed getting good grades is purely for the money and not for learning. As I stated, their parents always expect getting good grades and studying from them.…

According to research from Laura Flanders, “men make more money than women doing the same job, even though, in 2015 women held 70% of jobs” (Flanders np); however, one could argue that in recent years female labor force participation is not as high as male labor participation and that is why women do not make as much as men (Associated Press NP). Yet, during WWI and WWII, women were the ones that were in the factories making guns and bombs, they were also tending to the farms (Macdonald 16). Women deserve equal pay just as much as men do; employment should not be based on gender but rather on talent and skill. Some assert that women do not deserve to be paid as much as men do because women do not work as hard and cannot do certain jobs that men excel at.…

In elementary school like the third or fourth grade, my teacher talked about a topic regarding child labor and the duties they had to do like being a soldier. Many of us didn’t realize that children all over the world were forced to work without even being paid or receiving an education. A friend of mine knew a person who used to work as a child and she said how their life was terrible and miserable because they didn’t have much of a future after working as a child because they couldn’t go to school so they weren’t learning. She also said how this person after the experience was depressed because they couldn’t have much of a future and because she didn’t to enjoy her life as a child and instead had to have responsibilities. Our teacher told her that sometimes people don’t know what they have until it's gone like having a few more years to be a child and create those good memories.…
