Ever since I started elementary school I was told that the main goal in life was to go to college, get a good job and live a good life. That's easier said than done in most cases. Most students don't go to college because it becomes too difficult or the students are intimidated by the amount of work is assigned. But for most students, including me, can not go because of how expensive it is to be able to go. Though there is financial aid, not all students are eligible for that type of support. In other cases those students are eligible, but don’t know how to apply correctly, so they end up getting denied for financial aid. Even a student from Rio Hondo College named Bezerra said, “Tuition shouldn’t be free for those who can pay.” I can one hundred percent agree with Bezerra. Though I belong to engineering field back in my country, I was able to switch to IT field and many of those grades were easily transferred to a community college which saves both time and money. At the moment I have an Associate degree and employed in an IT field as well. This would not have been possible in the absence of community college. The most interesting thing is, for my Bachelors degree I am taking only core course at Western Kentucky University while taking other general courses at community college in a very cheap price comparing to WKU, which is about 3 times more expensive.…

According to your ambitious proposal “tuition-free community college” you suggested early this year that you would make two years of community college free and nationwide available to students in the United States. In other words, you wanted to provide millions of Americans more affordable access to a community college education that you called a "ticket to the middle class.” I agree with you that free tuition college will improve individual’s life in many ways. I assume that when college education is free, there will be more educated people across the nation which can convey the entire American society to the next level. Besides, education can open the doors for several opportunities of having better jobs to many American people.…

“Official statistics show that on average, the cost of attending a community college (tuition and fees only) is less than half of the cost of attending a four-year public college or university and only about ten percent of the cost of a four-year private school” (McClenney). Therefore, students that will enroll in college will be less struck by tuition if enrolled in a community college. Tuition in a community college is easier to pay, and a student does not have to take out a loan because there’s other forms of payments. For example, in the community college where I’m currently enrolled I have the option to use the payment plan. The payment plan is a plan where I’m given a specific date I need to make a payment before the whole tuition is due.…

Did you know some community colleges are free? Community colleges and private colleges are not the same. Private colleges are much harder to get accepted into and can give a degree up to a phD. On the other hand, community colleges are much easier to get accepted into and offer up to a masters degree. Though others may believe that there are many jobs without a college degree required, those employments offer no more than $70,000 a year, which may be good but sadly is not enough for some people. College is worth the cost because of employment opportunities, creating new friends, and developing new responsibilities.…

After graduating high school, many students ask themselves the same question, “Should I go to a four year university, or can I get away with going to a community college, but still have the same opportunities offered as a university student?” The answer to this question can vary depending on what the student is looking for out of the college experience. College can be a difficult and stressful time because for many students it can be the stepping stones to shaping the rest of your life. These students know that the decisions they make from here on out will change their lives forever, and one of the hardest could be choosing between starting with community college or a four year university. For many it is assumed that a community college is not as beneficial as a four year university to start, but they aren’t aware that “45 percent of all bachelor’s degrees are awarded to students who have transferred from a community college,” as recorded by The National Student Clearing House in the article by Jameson.…
