Should American citizens own guns
As a free country, American Constitution gives citizens the right to own guns. However, with more and more shooting accident happening, many people doubt whether the government should ban the use of guns. From my point of view, the American Constitution should be changed and the right to bear arms should be strictly limited.
The most important problem of gun is about safety. The crime rate of America has been rising because of gun and more and more people died or hurt in more and more shooting accident. But in most of the situations, the victim can not use guns to defend themselves when they are hurt by gun.Gray Kleck’s study found that as many as 2 million 450 thousand crimes are hindered every year in the United States, and in most cases, potential victims have never shot a shot in these cases. In this case, guns are used to constructively convey self-protection awareness. Kleck's research results have been quoted many times by academic and mass media. Also a study of David Hemenway in Harvard Injury Control Research Center indicated that the number of guns used for crime is far more than that for self-defense. However, according to Kleck's study, the most successful way to prevent casualties is not to send a bomb, and this is not self - defense in the Hemingway studies. [3] In February 22, 2018, the United States will raise the threshold for the minimum gun purchase age from 18 to 21 years, implement a more stringent background review procedure for the gun buyer, and disable devices such as the "fire gun".
