On July 29 1985, Penny Ann Beernsten was running that morning like she usually did. She was running the perimeter of the Lake Michigan shoreline when she was brutally attacked and raped by a man. The innocent project stated from police records that based on a physical description of Beernsten’s attacker, police were able to provide pictures of nine men. Steven Avery was among those men, and was arrested the following day. Sometimes, no matter how experienced, or prepared, an explorer may be, nature can still get the best of the explorer and lead them into a fatal error. A young adventurer named Christopher McCandless is a prime example of this statement, however, he had no experience and went into his adventure very unprepared. Christopher McCandless’s memory is kept alive by the biography, Into the Wild, written by Jon Krakauer. In Krakauer’s book, Into the Wild, he recalls the brief life of Christopher McCandless as he embarks on a great crusade to fulfill his lifelong dream of living in the Alaskan bush. In a school in Detroit a teacher by the name of Tiffani Eaton tried to stop a fight between two students by hitting both of them with a broom. Because of her actions the school fired her, the students were suspended. In my opinion her punishment was unjustified, although I can understand the other side of the coin. Winnit wanted to put up a statue to show his religion, but he put it right in front of another religious statue. Official take it down thus making Winnit mad, so he files a lawsuit demanding to put it back up. The District court ruled in favor of the officials saying that it wasn’t a violation of freedom of exercise of religion, and if the troll was kept would act as government speech, which is a violation of the First Amendment. After reading the book into the wild by Jon Krakauer it showed me that Chris was not crazy and the different aspects of the trip. Why would someone so wealthy drop everything to go into the wild, although he did do it for himself, but did hurt everyone around him.
