There is not a year that goes by without an innocent life taken by gun violence within the United States. Each year we constantly argue the idea of whether we should ban guns or reinforce tighter restrictions on guns, especially with the NRA (National Riffle Association). Often as usual we never ensure a decision and the topic slips up again when another instance occurs. Many has brought up ideas such as securing our schools with the same weapons that we are fighting to ban. Arming our teachers and training them how to use an armed weapon. Strengthening our mental health services as well as counseling services in schools and across the nation. And identifying bullies and victims in case of retaliation from either parties. One of the many ideas to furthermore protect our citizens as well as students from gun violence. Is by arming our beloved teachers with firearms as well as providing them with the proper etiquette as well as training to use them. “The tragedy also has me thinking a lot about teachers. Not from an academic point of view, but in the visceral feelings I have for teachers I have loved. There were only a few but they all had the same qualities in common: Patience. Compassion. Understanding. Passion.” (Anderson 504). These kind souls are honestly not fit to take a course of action in such a situation.”Arming teachers is a knee-jerk reaction fueled by the absurd fantasy that armed civilians can stop a mass murder. They can’t. But they very well might get themselves killed or put bystanders in dangers. In a classroom, that means someone’s child!” (Anderson 504). Yes, we need stronger reinforcements within our school systems but if we need to have someone other than our educators protect. Let the educators focus on educating our kids because we are violating our children 's learning
