Voting Against Trump
This year America was hit with an interesting surprise on June 16th, 2015, when Donald Trump declared he was going to run for President, yet again. At the time I was sitting in the airport waiting to board my flight, when I look up to the TV, and see the man himself, behind a podium, wearing a red tie, announcing to the world he was running for President. My jaw dropped. I couldn’t believe that someone with no political experience would even attempt to run for president, but I guess when you are Donald Trump you believe you can do everything and that you can be vulgar while doing it.
Currently, Trump is leading in the polls for the Republican Party and I’m baffled as to why. He doesn’t know how to present himself to the public in a sophisticated manner, in a way that a presidential candidate is supposed to present

His ideas for tackling issues of foreign policy, as well as issues on the home front are either too ridiculous for legislature or non-existent. Lastly he is a businessman with no political experience. He has never had to look over people in a town, a city, or a state, so how can we trust him to know what is best for the entire country. Each of these factors make me believe that he will put his best interests first, not the people’s, and are reasons why you should not vote for him.

Donald Trump is very outspoken and likes to speak his mind no matter how inappropriate or ill-mannered the statement may be. While he has spewed a lot of nonsense these past months, two of his statements have stood out to me the most. “... he (Donald) said Mexico was sending mostly rapists, criminals and drug users across the border,” ( Scherer 31). When Trump was announcing his campaign he was

He has claimed that Hispanics are rapists, Muslims being terrorist, and women being pigs. The hatred and disrespectful attitude that Trump has isn’t fit for president. Recently at one of his rallies, he bashed at one of his own supporters simply because her baby began to cry. This shows that if Donald Trump was agitated at a simple, innocent thing, one can imagine the trouble, he would cause to America if a conflict…

Donald Trump is known to be a very well-known businessman and if he can run many businesses and a half great monetary value then why can't he run office? A person that can handle this amount of business and has the credibility of being a person that can create these type of businesses should be able to handle being president and commander-in-chief .Donald Trump is not the right person to be elected president of the United States, because he is very unpredictable and lacks political experience. Just because a person owns businesses or has a hotel that does not mean that they are able to handle the lives of millions of people in the United States. It takes more than being rich and wealthy to be the president of the United States it takes compassion and critical thinking these are two things that Donald Trump lacks.…

Imagine sitting at a table and drafting a document that is going to govern and choose the United Stated president every four years for the rest of history. In 1787, the values and thoughts of those men were about fairness and a balance of government that they had not found being under British rule. Now as a citizen of the United States, we go into booths and either press a button or mark with a pencil who we would like to be our president or at least that is what we think. The actual process of electing the president is handled by a group of individuals elected by our citizens that cast a vote based on what we as citizens mark in that booth. We can all agree that while it was fair and balanced with 13 states in 1787, we may need to relook…

My question is drawn from the Aristotle’s Rhetoric, Pages 1-15. The quote that inspired my question was, “In a political debate, the man who is forming a judgement is making a decision about his own vital interests.” This quote made me think about the people I know who have risen above themselves and who seek to help others. People who volunteer frequently, donate large percentages of their paychecks, and people who always hold the door open for others are the people who come to mind. Obviously, these people have their own self-interests as well, but they also spend a noticeable amount of their time helping others and looking out for our society as well.…

A democracy is a form of government in which the supreme power is vested in the people, and the United States claims to have the freest and most democratic in the world. In fact, many consider the American democracy to be a shining beacon of freedom, more so than any other nation on earth. Yet, upon closer examination of the U.S. presidential election process, this claim begins to deteriorate. Due to the founding fathers’ distrust in the ability of average voters to choose a president, they created the Electoral College: a system through which each state is given a number of electors based on its number of members in Congress. State legislatures choose a set of electors who later convene to cast votes for president.…

Free exchanges are valued, because through comparative advantage benefits are given to both parties. Libertarians would say, “People should be free to buy and sell whatever they please, as long as they don’t violate anyone’s rights” (Sandel). However, Americans should not be allowed to sell their votes because it takes away morality and freedom, votes will be focused only on the wealthy and therefore, it will not benefit both parties. Morality and freedom is found when individual rights are respected and therefore kept. Freedom in exchanges can and will only be found when exchanges benefit both parties.…

A controversial topic is the highlight of today’s news- Donald trump’s ideas to lengthen the U.S.-Mexico border, to deport “anchor babies” to Mexico, and the fact that the U.S. wouldn’t be economically stable without these immigrants. Now although Donald Trump is not yet president, many claim that he has a chance of winning the 2016 presidential election. Many fear this idea may be true because the U.S. population, of people who can vote, is for Trump. Theoretically speaking, Mr. Trump’s ideas would not only cause conflict with Mexico but he would also cause massive human rights violations.…
