Argumentative Essay On Veronica's Life

Veronica was eating lunch, when she got a phone call from South Shore Hospital saying that her mom had died in a car accident with a drunk driver. She was so devastated, and she wanted to press serious charges. Her mom (Mary) was the only closest family, she had ,besides her sister Brooklyn, (who is pregnant). She called Brooklyn right away and she got the first flight to Massachusetts. Brooklyn lives all the way in California and her plane didn't leave until 3:30pm and didn’t arrive until 8:00pm. Once she got there they Brooklyn asked who was their lawyer going to be, because they would need a great one if they wanted to win. It was always Veronica's dream to be a lawyer, so she decided she was going to do it,( that was the main reason she is attending Harvard …show more content…
“Order .. this is the case between Matthews… and ..um Matthews.” Veronica’s face dropped when she realized her sister was not playing about him being their dad. The judge asked, “do you guys happen to be related in any type of way”
Brooklyn replied “ Yes Veronica is my little sister, and Tom is our father… but we don’t have a relationship with him since our mom, and him are no longer together”. The whole courtroom was silent, everyone started to wonder if Mary’s death was really an “accident.” Court that day wasn’t long because of all of the tension in the room, and the police wanted to do more investigating to see if it wasn’t really an accident. When they got home they decided not to talk about court and to have a good time, so the went out for lunch to catch up on life. As they were talking there dad came into the restaurant to clarify that he didn’t kill their mom on purpose, and that he was truly sorry for what had happened. At court they mentioned what their father had said to them, but the jury didn’t really believe them, because they went through Mary’s phone and their dad actually threatened to kill
