Collier first heard about the event on the news, “I’ve kept up with the news all my life and I remember when the shooting happened, all the news programs had it as a headline”. Shirley says she was sad when she heard Tupac died because, “he was young and very talented and I think he could have grown in terms talent. He also sang about important topics like racism, greed, love, etcetera etcetera. When it comes to the rumors that Tupac is still alive, Shirley doesn’t believe them, “I don’t think that he could stay hidden for this long” she says. It doesn’t matter if you’re a hip hop fan or not, if you were alive in the 90’s, the shooting of Tupac is a memorable time in pop culture. Surrounded by questions and conspiracies, it remains a large mystery to the world. Even if Tupac is still alive, he isn’t making music anymore, so the world really did lose a musical genius on the night of October 7th
