The United States presidential election of 2016, is schedule for Tuesday, November 8, 2016. This will be the 45th election in the history of North America, and some people say the most controversial election of all. There is currently five total nominees, two democrats, Bernie Sanders and Hilary Clinton. On the other hand, we have the republican party with Donald Trump, Ted Cruz, and John Kasich. Although, the election is not over yet, the most controversial candidate is Donald J. Trump, his plans for the nation and the comments he have made about Mexicans and Muslims have made a lot of people upset and seems so have started an racial era. The biggest surprise with the 2016 election is not Trump running for president, but to see how many people actually support him and is voting for him. In addition, Mr. Trump has won three states so far on pre-election polls and is going beating his other republican candidates. As Linda Chavez has noted in her article Donald’s Trump America, “his notions about the evils of immigration are based on untruth that promote ideas noxious to conservatives and imperil the legacy of the Republican Party.” One of the plans that he mentioned when he started his campaign was building a wall between Mexico and the United States to stop illegal …show more content…
Conceivably, the leader of this great country should be a person that can unite and not divide. Some people argue that they are only against illegal immigration, but there is no a way to tell who is in the country legally or who is not by looking at them, which means people will be discriminated either way because of the way they look. The United States is famous for being a land of dreams and build by immigrants, like a famous Mexican president once said, “in order to gain respect from others, you have to respect them

A topic that has been in the mouths of an entire nation since the presidential campaign started has been what each candidates view on immigration is. Trump has definitely had something to say about this topic and if people thought that he was going to soften up the immigration policy well…incorrect. Donald Trump plans to reinforce immigration policy by making it stricter. He wants to enforce border control as he says by building a great wall alongside the southern border to prevent illegal immigrants from coming into the United States and making Mexico pay for it. In Trumps words, "This election is our last chance to secure the border, stop illegal immigration, and reform our laws to make your life…

Our Future America To introduce myself I am Hayes Johnson and I am here to talk about concerns that I have with our future country run by Donald Trump. First off I want to say that I am very pleased to have Mr.Trump as our future president. One concern that I have is that because of “the wall” that Trump will supposedly build, I think that with future presidents of Mexico there may be conflict between the U.S. and Mexico. I fear that this will happen because maybe the next president of Mexico may not be as calm as the present Mexican President. Another concern of mine is that with Trump saying all of these expressions about bombing potential threats and terrorists, that maybe war will be a common thing for the U.S.…

The Electoral College is a system whose constitutionality has been disputed for years; especially since 2000. The Electoral College is founded in Article II of the United States Constitution. The number of electors for each state in the Electoral College is equal to the number of representatives that state has Congress (U.S. Constitution, Article II, Section 1, Clauses 2 and 3). The people of the United States vote for their electors, but the electors vote for the president. Thus, under the Electoral College, the people of the U.S. do not directly vote for their president.…

The Electoral College was a system outlined in the United States’ constitution by the founding fathers, as the method in which they believe the president should be elected. But with the progression of time the views on the necessity of the Electoral College has become a controversy, as now two factions exist with one faction believing that the Electoral College is an illegitimate method for the election of a president. I thought it was completely against my moral standards [for a President] when Bill Clinton had Sexual relations with Monica Lewinsky. It seems like it is the norm behavior now. The Affordable Care Act and how it was implemented was stupid, in my judgment. I really was for the single payer model. My feeling is that the Democratic Party should quit whining over Hillary Clinton's loss to Donald Trump.…

Donald Trump’s wall is not a feasible project to help the country combat illegal immigration. The money is not there and the amount of work it would take to build the wall. Just the amount of concrete necessary to build it would be more than four Hoover Dams! The Hoover Dam has 6.6 million tons of concrete in it, the wall plan calls for more than four times that amount. Also, the cost of tripling the ICE and the United States Customs Border Patrol may be necessary to combat the problem but at this point in time, it is not a realistic goal because the money is not there.…

National Popular Voting is a very effective way of voting. It helps balance out the votes and it could be an easier way to get the results. I chose this strategy because I have a strong feeling that it would be more fair than any other way. Voting is already counted by state and it would be valuable to use the votes for every election. Using the votes for every election could help find the winner for the position quicker.…

"Trump clearly is very much an isolationist when it comes to trade, which obviously is the most important issue we have with the U.S," said Donald Abelson, a political science professor at Western University and director of The Canada-U.S. Institute. "If you do buy into the bravado and do buy into the policy pronouncements, it's all going to be about 'America first' and everyone else second and what kind of ripple effect does that have on us." A Trump presidency "would certainly have a huge impact on the U.S.…

The Presidential Election In November, 2016 we the people, are to vote for a new commander and chief of the United States, to lead our country in the right direction. Many candidates, both Democrat and Republicans, along with their supporters, are setting precedence with their abusive and abrasive behavior and bad answers. I look at politics now as more of an argument about a person or vulgar language. When the 2016 election is over the next president is likely to be viewed unfavorably by over half of us. The winner will be untrusted and unable to unite the country to face the real challenges confronting our nation.…
