Do you choose to think positively or negatively about your body? When you look into a mirror you do not need to stare at your body to make sure you do not look "to this or that". A shocking result of 97 percent of women in America surveyed by GLAMOUR admitted to somewhat having negative thoughts about their body and how they view themselves. When we look at other people most of us have the same response towards their body shape. If you see a model you may think about how they are the perfect shape and how you would love to be as "fit" or "perfect" as they are. That is the normal human response. Back in the 1800's, women used to wear corsets which were both painful and parlous. They brought more attention to the hips, breasts, and buttocks all while making her waist tinier. Some measurements girls may want are impossible to uphold without surgery or depriving themselves of food. According to the National Eating Disorders Association, 42 percent of first to third-grade girls want to lose weight, and 81 percent of 10-year-olds are afraid of being fat. These are young girls who are in danger of starting poor habit as they start getting older which could lead them to have an eating disorder. Eating disorders, in the end, can cause one to have heart failure and then death. It's a mental illness that causes people to obsess about being what they believe is the right weight and watch what they eat and how much they consume. Do girls genuinely want to risk this life-threatening behavior just for what society wants them to be?
Finding a way for girls to grow comfortable with their own bodies and ignoring negativity is definitely not something easy for everyone but it's something that if it isn't done then the problems that are rising now could get worse and we go on. Most role models to a woman are famous idols
