Being active and Getting exercise is very important especially for students in high school; only 2.1% of high schools provide daily physical education or its equivalent for the entire school year according to the Department of Health and Human Services. Physical education should be mandatory throughout all High Schools in the country to help students develop healthy habits and to learn how to have a healthy lifestyle, to improve their overall wellness. High schools are not acting upon improving a physical education class, which provides negatively effects towards students. There are too many schools that are not requiring a P.E class into their curriculum. A physical education class can be very beneficial to students by leading them to a great healthy life in their future.

School districts are always doing budget cuts against the P.E curriculum as a fall back. Some states and the federal government may think cutting P.E programs will save money quickly. In the long term a decreased physical education class in schools means fewer healthy lifestyle choices for students. It can lead to more sedentary lifestyles, meaning an increase of heart diseases and other weight-related health issues throughout America. According to the Spark Organization in the year of 2013, education faced $3 billion in cuts throughout the United States and 60% of that money came from slashing the Physical education curriculum.
