This action happens millions of times every single day and often results in death. The following incident is purely fictional: “Three teenaged girls are driving down a busy two-lane road somewhere in Great Britain, talking and laughing. The driver of the car is sending a flirtatious text message to a male acquaintance named James: "My mate fancies u." As she texts, the car drifts into the opposing lane, and the car is struck, at full speed, by an oncoming vehicle. Knowing the majority of the facts now, texting while driving still affects all people that are behind the wheel. It honestly furthers the argument that every time drivers get into a car and see other drivers look in their lap or raise the phone to their mouth. This issue will only get significantly worse if the United States Government doesn’t pass the laws that actually will stop texting while driving. It is very alarming that society cannot develop an app or some software on our cell phones that stops the phones usage if you are in a car moving over 25 mph. In December 2013, 153.3 billion text messages were sent in the US every month, 10% of those 153.3 billion texts came from teenagers who were texting while behind the wheel. The only thing that drivers can in truly do to prevent these fatal accident is to be more cautious, report someone if they text while behind the wheel, and constantly watch for others that pose a threat to others lives while driving in an
