Teenage girls want to be loved and accepted by their parents or guardians by any means possible. For many girls, their mother is their role model growing up, mothers teach their daughters how to be beautiful and respectful. A father teaches their daughter that they are strong and no one can bring them down. Every day many teenage girls have an accidental pregnancy. Some soon to be teenage moms are lucky to be growing up in loving and supporting families that will help take care of the developing fetus in the teen’s belly; however that is not always the case in all families. However, during her time all abortions were considered illegal; unless giving birth to the child would put the mother’s life at risk, it would then be acceptable. During the trials of Roe v. Wade, the state was arguing that abortion should be a state matter, therefore it is left up to the people to legislate. Planned Parenthood is willing to administer free and confidential STD, HIV, pregnancy tests, multiple forms of birth control and talk to the youth about sex education. If someone is under 18 years old they may need to have parental consent to have an abortion (Planned Parenthood Federation of America Inc. 2014). Although, not all Planned Parenthood’s may not be able to give abortions to any teen that walks in but they are able to administer many forms or birth control methods to the teen. Helping teens gain access to legitimate facilities such as Planned Parenthood will help teenage girls have lower chance of becoming
