Although the film did a well job of showing the swing kids with long hair, I believe the swing kids could have been shown as more rebellious. In the movie they showed them smoking and drinking slightly, but in reality swing kids were much more rebellious. I believe they didn’t show these things to make the movie more appropriate. The film was also very accurate in showing how the Hitler Youth brainwashed. It is apparent of this after witnessing Thomas, a once swing kid, transform into a Nazi and believe everything they taught him. Thomas even began turning against his friends and family. The events that took place in the film were accurate as well, such as the Hitler Youth invading swing clubs. The characters shown were somewhat accurate, it is obvious that Hitler was real as well as the Hitler Youth, but characters like Arvid, Thomas, and Peter were only fictional characters.
