Many schools know that affording sports can be a problem. According to Amanda Ripley she states that, “Maintaining a grass field can cost over 20,000 dollars a year” (11). The article also explains that, “They have to pay for buses for the team, the band, and the cheerleaders, not to mention meals and hotels on the road” (Ripley 11).
