Individuals have been aboard the station since the first time it ventured into space. Since the ISS has been orbiting Earth for so long, NASA is bound to add more stations in hopes of getting more bodies into the barren area of space. The long term test that has been taking place is the effect space flight has on the human body. With lack of gravity Everything changes from how they must sleep, to how they change their exercise. All of the astronauts must still keep up on personal hygiene while in space, but without gravity they use different options, such as rinse-less shampoo. Strength is another issue within the confines of the International Space Station. With the lack of exercise to the lower half of the body, astronauts must work out everyday while in space to prevent their bones and muscle from becoming weak and out of practice (NASA, 1).
