Proposition: South Korea’s younger demographic needs to stop being obsessed with the narrow beauty standard promoted in the entertainment industry.
Audience: My intended audience will be young adults/South Korea’s younger demographic, who seem to be the most influenced by South Korea’s entertainment industry, as the new generations spend more time watching TV shows and listening to K-Pop.
Goal: My goal is to show the younger demographic some of the negative effects when we insist on wanting to conform to the beauty standard promoted by the entertainment industry and by the majority of celebrities. I hope to show how it changes our mindset/outlook on how we have to portray ourselves and what we are starting to value more.

Most of the time, I listen to South Korean music artists, or watch Korean TV dramas and entertainment shows. There are millions of individuals just like me, and you right now, may be one of them. South Korea’s entertainment industry has a strong impact on the country’s modern society due to an aspect it presents: the celebrities that have small face, big eyes and a high-bridged nose. These celebrities are considered to represent a beauty standard that is inspired by Caucasian features, a prominent desire in Asian culture over the past decades. However, many people of Asian descent aren’t born with these features, myself included.
