Brodell from the Department of Dermatology at University of Mississippi Medical Center, when studying skin protection behaviors among young male Latino day laborers, discovered 6% of LDLs reported always using sunscreen. Boyas, 2015) Since they are exposed to the sun and it is an occupational hazard, the employer should make it a goal to educate all employees on the importance of sunscreen use during work hours to decrease skin cancer risks. Javier F. Boyas also found 59% of the participants reported never using sunscreen. (Javier F. Boyas, 2015) This is a shocking discovery because more than half of the sample never used sunscreen to protect themselves during work hours. Employers should make it a point for all employees to protect themselves from the sun using sunscreen every day during work hours. Elliot J.
