Adaptable means to be able to adjust to new conditions. Ricky baker shows that he is compassionate by grabbing the gun and shooting it off in the cabin to worn of the three guys that were jumping hec before hec got hurt. He shows that he is compassionate in doing that by feeling hecs pain and caring for hec and he knows, how much hec means to him. Ricky baker is compassionate by finding hec and telling him he is sorry for shooting him in the back and that he would like to be his uncle. What this all means is that he really feels bad for calling hec a molester and putting him in the insane asylum. But what he really wanted was to reunite their friendship for each other.
