It allows them to better comprehend things in school. “After all, if a student struggles to put together words and sentences, how can he be expected to grasp the math, science, and social concepts he’ll be presented with when he begins elementary school?” Reading is a vital part of education and should be taken very seriously. Reading to a child is very beneficial to their future. The impact that has on students is tremendous and could be associated with college freshmen reading at a 7th grade level. “ According to the report, 54% of children up to the age of five are read to at home five to seven days a week, with this declining to 34% of six to eight-year-olds, and 17% of nine to 11-year-olds. But 40% of six to 11-year-olds who are not read to told researchers they wish their parents had continued reading aloud to them.” The number of tests increases as our students age does, as the graph in the article “Study says standardized testing is overwhelming nation’s public schools” clearly states, so does the percent of students that still enjoy reading. This clearly shows us that there is a direct connection to the number of test students take and the level of interest they have,
