This source is radio broadcast transcript originally published by the National Public Radio and was retrieved on LexisNexis. The radio broadcast uses mainly a democratic/environmentalist view on grand overview of cruise ships debacle in Charleston. In the broadcast they explains how Charleston ranked the third best city in the world and the best North American city for tourist (“In Charleston, S.C., Resistance to Cruise Ships”). In broadcast they basically say that if Charleston builds the new passenger cruise terminal, Charleston will lose all of it rankings and will basically become an overpopulated desensitized tourist destination, with no historic meaning or charm. One you get past all of the nonsense, only one good logical point remains, that out of the “4.5 million people a year [who] visit Charleston. Only 175,000 of them arrive or sail on a cruise ship” (qtd. in “In Charleston, S.C., Resistance to Cruise Ships”). That's only 3.9% of the total human tourist traffic of the city, which proves that this whole issues are over something relatively microscopic. The source is not that useful in the sense of my argument, but, will be useful when critiquing the opposing viewpoints to prove them wrong.
