A significant number of the Western or American thoughts regarding race and ethnicity originate from particular periods in history that were characterized by imperialism, colonialism and different tides that moved populaces and demographics (Henrich, 2013). With such changes and the inter-interactions of distinctive races and ethnicities, predominant populations rose to power and applied impact over others by involving and controlling the scene, dialect, society, and customs. In these various historical samples, the white individuals accomplished predominance, while the subordinate gatherings such as ethnic minorities were consigned to the social, political and monetary edges. This implies that the subordinate population had reduced power, and people in that population were frequently denied the rights and opportunities assumed by the dominant individuals. The dominant population holds social, political and financial power thus determining who deserves sharing of that power. Obviously, evidence show that there exists a sustained history of resistance among marginalized groups.
