The American Dream is an accomplishment that everyone wants to succeed in their life. We are all reaching for that same dream, whatever that may be. Everyone has different views of what the “American Dream” really is. That dream could be having all that is available in this life to meet our needs, wants and desires. To others, it could mean having a well paying job, a wonderful family and a secure future. Maybe to others it means having the opportunity for a better life. This belief has made Americans into not only the land of opportunities, but also a land of possibilities. This dream has given so many people the confidence they need in order to rise from nothing, into something to overcome the odds.
Race and education seem to have a huge affect on each other. A law professor at University of Texas was demanded ouster because he said that African Americans and Mexicans are at a disadvantage in higher level of education because they come from cultures that tolerate failure. Ideally, race and education would not affect at all, and the same for educations would not affect race. However, this is challenging to achieve. He was wrongfully accused for being racist. When in reality the professor was only going by what reality real is in America. Poor students throughout the country struggle to afford the costs of going to college. Many students drop out of college or forced to stop attending because they can not keep up financially. This causes a serious threat to the education integrity and standard of the United States. Less people are unable to afford higher education, less people will be able to attain degrees and receive college level
